Hi Guys, this one came into work this week and will go into our next sale in March 2016.

A fairly clean example with just some paint loss to the scabbard. Generic "Solingen" mark to the blade.

    Cheers, Ade.

Very nice frog, hard to come by.

Just got a book in the mail the other day, early publication (1967), collaboration between an American collector and German expert Dr. Kurt Gerhard Klietmann, and it is mentioned that these were considered "sidearms" by the Germans, not bayonets as we all call them. The term was Seitengewehr. Not trying to change anyone's way of dicsussing these as we will probably always call them bayonets... but is this correct info?

It is interesting to note that while this one in fact has the "bayonet" slot, they usually don't fit a Karabiner 98 Kurz.

    That is correct.
