I need help identifying this bayonet, it has many marks on it, cannot figure out exactly who made or what year it came into existance. Has a P.W. under the bakelite grips. and a waa88 and waa883?

Does the Bayonet have a number on the spine near the hilt?Butch
It is of course mis-matched to the scabbard.
Cheers, Ade.
It does not appear to have a number there. the only number is under the guard and it is a 5. It also has waffenamt codes on the button for the release. I think it was a horster bayo, but when? if it is.
btw. the scabbard has the same waffen stamp on the ball.
Some info for your on the WaA stamps:

So the "42" means 1942? I know it is a Horster but has werke marks?
The important photo where is the maker code is missing, i assume You mean 41 or 42asw? so the piece was made by Hoerster, the scabbard is more interesting done by Chattelerault in occupied France, what for series letter os under number? best regards,Andy
Does teh scabbard have any significance to the value? does the scabbard maker have any bayonets made? What os number are you refering to? Being no maker code, why is that?
On one side You have 7677z on other side You should have asw 40 or 41asw? there is blurry photo on beginn, the scabbard was made in France, and should be with same numbered bayonet, i dont see the exact number and letter on the scabbard , please shot a better photo when possible. best regards,Andy
