    Here is imperial 84/98 Prussian marked on spine 17 it has a Bayern man on horse tradmark on one side and Gothlieb Hammer on the other What is the Bayern mark (occupied plant in Belgium maybe?) scabbard may be for Ersatz or S-14 as it is longer than a 84/98 it has Imperial proof on frog stud that didn't come out too good in picture. timothy

    Not readable on cross guard it is cooroded A crossed out with X and a number 137 or 187 could these be regimental marks? timothy

    My reference book says Bayard is the Belgian Pieper Company.....Anciens Etablissements Pieper,Herstal-Lez-Liege,Belgium....Pete.

    Bayard was the maker of the blade. At Hammesfahr the bayonet was finished.
