Question An interesting coincidence of numbers.

    An interesting coincidence of numbers.

    I'm looking for input, opinions.

This K-98 bayonet has the left ricasso marked "Durkopp" (obviously the manufacturer "WaA547") and the right marked with the serial number, "1998". The spine shows the date of manufacture "38" (for 1938).
The sheath is stamped "Durkopp" above a "37" (for 1937) on the left and the right is stamped with the sheath serial number, "1997", above a "C".
The pommel shows two Waffenamt "eagle over WaA547" stamps as well as one on the top of the handle and one on the sheath tip ball. The grips are of the brown composite "bakelite" material.

The interesting thing about this bayonet, in my opinion, is the unmatched, but yet sequential serial numbers with sequential years of production per piece.

I'm looking for opinions on the piece.

Yes, an interesting coincidence. Perhaps someone
has tried to come up with a matching set and
this was the best they could do.........?

I was thinking that myself! Whoever did it, came about as close as you could ever hope to!
