K98 Bayonet

Hi all.

Trying to identify date and maker, WKC.

Both matching serials. Some small detail on the hilt. Carries the number '38' on the back of the blade. Came with a frog which also has its own marking, not sure if original to both. I could not get the damn thing off.

WKC = Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Companie.

38 = 1938 - date of manufacture.

4812 = individual serial number of the bayonet/scabbard.

The Waa/Eagle marks are the military inspectors acceptance stamps.

The marking on the frog indicates the manufacturer but I can't help with this - not sure if there is a list about.

It looks like a late war piece to me - perhaps some else can confirm.

Does anyone have any idea as to value. I gave £140 for it. Not something i normally go for, just couldn't resist this one.
