K98 Bayonet?

Article about: Im not sure if this is a German bayonet but that is what I was told. Any information would be greatly appreciated as far as the history of the item and also its value.

    It is a German bayonet with Bakelite grips, I think the maker is Alcoso Solingen

    Not made for the Armed Forces - possibly for the Police or a number of other organisations equipped with the Kar98k and bayonet.

    Have a look here for all sorts of examples of the bayonet.

    yes made for police, customs etc.

    Please have a look to the blade spin... is there a little eagle or a Star ?

    Found this thread interesting as i seen one for sale described as commercial too, matched up with scabbard maker WKC, i have contacted seller to see if there any markings on the spine, any thoughts welcome, not sure how collectable these are in compered to infantry issued bayos,

    Because they are scarcer than the Army/Wehrmacht examples I think that they collectible just by themselves. But this one I'm not so sure about because of the condition, and the known parameters for this maker. And I'm also inclined to doubt that it has a spine marking. Best Regards, Fred
