K98 Bayonet - First buy!
Hello friends,
I've been looking on the different threads here for some time and now I decided to register.
Here is so much knowledge and thats why I ask you for help!
I will buy my first K98 bayonet, but since I dont know anything (except what I read here) I post some pictures on the one im interested in. Is this a good first buy?

Hello GKG welcome to the forum..yes it is a good buy as the numbers in this case are matching. Having a frog for it would be a great benefit..but at least the condition and numbers matching are a great start.
What is the asking price?

The asking price is 160 EUR incl shipping. Its not much, but if it was a fake one it would be money thrown away.
Would you recommend it?

At the conversion of $170 US....I would say its an ok price as some of these being sold by dealers are running higher.

I think I will go with this one.. but still got some hours to decide
It looks to be an original bayonet but I do have some concerns regarding the condition. It seems to have some traces of pitting, and the bluing in the photos of the scabbard and bayonet blade look very different (not unlike it has been removed in cleaning the blade). So while lighting may or may not be a part of it, I personally would like some more pictures in better lighting to see if my suspicions are correct or not. Best Regards, Fred
