is the skull means SS?
Hi Bruno,
Looks to me to be an interwar (maybe WWI) era S84/98 bayonet that has had the markings cleaned off and a SS deathshead added. I would say this is not original in my opinion.
I belive that skull has nothing to do with Waffen SS - it is even not similar at all to any waffen skull... And what might be the meaning of small litera L in front of the edge?
And finally - does anybody have some knowledge about k98 bayos produced without flashguards? I will place special photo as well:
...pls notice again that sheath has also no any markings - so the only markings to identify that set is unidentified skull and small litera L in the blade...
Deathsheads were used in the early days to mark some equipment used by the SS-VT/SS-TV. But these markings are now faked. I cannot tell you if this particular one is original.
Cheers, Ade.
According to my bayonet book by John Walter, some early WW1 S84/98 II bayonets 1915 did not have flash guards,I believe the skull has been added.

Thank to everybody so far...
Any comments about small litera L in the edge of blade (unusual place) ??
Additionally - my photos are not of very good quality but I can say for sure that this bayo has no any polishment or cleaning the markings or whatever other shit after it was produced...
I heard somewhere it may belongs to some commercially produced k98 bayos?
The only two bayonet pictures I have seen with a letter where yours is but the letter is an a, were ID as MILITARY police. On website k98.free
