k98 bayonet, matching numbers

Article about: On the plus side, at least in my part of the U.S., the German Police frogs are harder to find than the Luftwaffe ones. And the frog does seem to be in nice condition. Regards, Fred

Nice original bayonet with a original Luftwaffe frog, looks like the blade has been reblued imo.

It's a nice looking rig , and offhand I don't get the sense of a reblued blade as there are some same period OEM types such as Coppel with a high polish finish. With the grips looking unblemished in the images posted which is usually a good sign. But Luftwaffe? Maybe, but there should be an "LBA" marking on the back, and absent that it might be a Police frog(?). Regards, Fred

That was what I was thinking Frogprience more fits a rural police than luft and absent LBA mark couldn't say for sure even some early pre war Heer equipment was brown but that frog looks like a lot of police I have seen. timothy

    Hello,

the color of the frog belongs to the police... so frog and bayonet don´t belongs together.
