'Backbone Of The Wehrmacht' byRichard D Law ( Collector Grade Publications, 1993 & 1998 ).
While Laws books are OK, they are full of errors and omissions so tread cautiously in using them for reliable references. When BBotW came out I wrote to Law and gave him a typed full page single space list of errors by page and correct info. He never bothered to reply and when the revised edition came out most of the same errors were still in the book! I know of several others who also wrote and got no reply. LOUSY work by any author!
The Best most accurate and complete books on the K98k rifles is the 3 vol set by Karem and Steves. Vol 1 is Karbiner 98k, vol 3 is Kriegsmodel and vol 2 is yet to be published, it covers the mid war years.
