    Hi,

This is my first German bayonet. I don't usually buy bayonets, although the price was right and the paint scheme interested me. The both pieces are numbered "1843" and the scabbard is marked "WKC 1940", the blade is marked "40" on the side and there are acceptance marks on the handle and on the tip of the scabbard.

I'm not sure if this is normal, although the blade has never been sharpened.

Does anyone have any idea what they paint may signify?

    Thanks for your help!
