Re: Matching K98 Bayonet 42fnj- Vet purchase
Very nice bayo, is it sharpen by chance? (wondering)
Seem that the gun show has good deals. The Crossroads of the West gun show in my are is usually not good place to get deals. Every one put a premium price or higher. Example - Mauser booth was sell K98 Russian capture for $400+. (To high for my blood.)
Rarely go to it. when i go it mainly ammo.

Re: Matching K98 Bayonet 42fnj- Vet purchase
I got there pretty early, and I got this bayonet for $100. Not the greatest deal ever but not too bad either. I won a free appetizer at Texas Roadhouse, too. haha
It wasn't too bad of a show. I found a nice no-decal M42 for $250 but I didn't have enough extra cash for it.
It looks to me like the bayonet was lightly sharpened.

Re: Matching K98 Bayonet 42fnj- Vet purchase
reason i asked it looked like it was sharpened a bit. That a great deal for matching bayo because they can go for 175 on up depending on maker and condition. couple years ago i found bayo at the gun show for 125 blueing on blade was good and had not been sharpen, but was mismatched. it was ok price to me because it was my first.
to bad you didn't get m42. I would have bumed money of my buddies.
Again congrats on bayo looks great to me!

Yeah, ditto - great score !
I think the '1' is actually an 'I' though, as there were normally letter
codes under the serial number for each batch of 10,000 made.
Possibly the serif had broken off the punch............
