    Hi chaps, my first k98 bayonet arrived today. It has a matching blade and scabbard plus original leather frog which is maker marked and dated 1941.
    The blade looks like it needs a clean, any tips how best to do this please?

    I would just wipe some oil on it.

    If you try to remove rust or clean it too harshly,
    you might take off the original blueing......

    There is already the blueing from the markings on blade removed, so it should be not removed the blueing.best regards,Andy
