Matching numbers K98 bayonet

Got this today (although not in my possession yet).

It was relatively cheap so will forgive the fact that it hasn't got any makeup on and looks a little tired but it's a start on the journey for matching numbers. It has 43 cul on one side of the blade, would this be a clue as to the year and maker?

Yes the 43 is the year of manufacture and the "cul" is Ernst Pack und Sohne,Solingen
