    Thank you all for your comments, at least my first is a good example. Let's hope my next is as good. Can anyone suggest a good begginers book to buy to identify bayonets?

    Nice original Very good condition KS98 as stated can't make out maker or distributor on blade. Try Seitengehwer by George Wheeler. timothy

    Hi Newberry. Welcome to the forum. If you are after a decent, general book on world bayonets then I think you could do a lot worse than this one:

    An Illustrated History of Bayonets: Amazon.co.uk: Martin J. Brayley: Books

    I have a copy and have used it a number of times, although dont expect every bayonet to be in there lol Cheers.

    Nice original KS98 in excellent condition I can't read the maker or distributor on blade. They were known as extra waffen seitengewher for dress, parade or walking out. Nice piece timothy
