That is odd. It should fit all German K98's. Do you know

Yeah i thought it was odd. Don't think it's a contract It's marked S/42 1937 SER 962. Was told when i bought it, it was a possible Russian capture but it has no 'X' markings on the receiver or anywhere, also still has orig cap screws in place at least 1 is anyway. Bolt is different but i suspect it was changed bec the orig would've been to worn to use It's well worn all over the bayo lug seems to be alot thicker than on the bayo itself? Bayo dodgy manufacture? Or who used a thicker bayo lug? I'll post some pics so u can see. If it'll let me.

Wow i managed to get it on! I don't think it's ever been mounted on a rifle. it was a bit of a mission very tight there was some slight damage on the bayo guide stoppin it from goin on cleaned it up bit of lube n bang it went on. (with a bit of force) Thanks for telling me it should fit on, thats what gave me the confidence to try a bit more, didn't wanna break or damage anything.
