Natzweiler-Struthof, the only major Konzentrationslager to be established on occupied French territory. Poor quailty photograph but the red political triangle is still clearly visible, as is the "F" designation for a French national.
Great photos Carl..thankyou for reporting this history as many who frequent this website depend upon your research and all others who have contributed to this sub forum.
Those of us who are not able to travel to these camps are grateful for having all these images displayed here..I know of no other resource website than the WRF and your great work here that could equally compliment what has been seen here.
Thankyou for all that you do not letting anyone forget this dark time period.

The only major concentration camp established to primarily hold female inmates, f.KL-Ravensbrück (frauen-Konzentrationslager.../women's concentration camp...), also held cca 20,000 male inmates. The permanent exhibit on site, arguably one of the finest presentations among the major camps, displays a male uniform.

The insignia displayed below, part of the permanent exhibit at Sachsenhausen, shows that the inmate was a Jewish political prisoner - patches adorning inmate clothing often showed that they were guilty of more than a single offence...

The purple insignia shown on the uniform below was issued to a Jehovah's Witness, or, although extremely unlikely, a member of another small pacifist religious organisation.
I agree with Larry, thanks Carl for your contributions to this important thread.
