Was in Munich last week. While primarily a family vacation including my wife, boys and sister-in-law (who met up with us from the other side of the globe), I did get my one "ask" which was for everyone to see Dachau.

Anyway, while I don't have much new to add about the history of camp itself and I'm sure this has already been covered by others I did take a few hundred photos. Here are a few for those of you who have not been there....

"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Thanks for sharing those images. A place of such sorrow and misery.

My father was stationed in Germany and we, as a family, visited here on our way back from a vacation at the alpine AFRC at Berchtesgaden. Still looks much like I recall the place. Is the museum still there? It was in the gatehouse when we visited and had large photos on display which were pretty disturbing. It was an interesting vacation for me, seeing the Obersalzberg, and doing things like the General Walker bunker tour there, and seeing the camp at Dachau.

The museum is now in the large Processing hall. It is quite large and informative. TBH I was expecting something much more disturbing and prepped my two boys (12 & 14). But it was all very well done. I guess I was expecting something more like Auschwitz but Dachau was not truly a "death camp". Either way, it was sobering.
