    Carl, hi,

Do you by any chance know what and where was the sub-camp at Nürnberg?

    Best,

    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

There were two sub-camps of Floßenbürg located at Nürnberg. The SSW camp (Siemens-Schuckertwerke) and the SS-Kaserne. At the SS-Kaserne camp, inmates were mostly involved in the development process of the SS facilities.

    Regards,

    Carl

    Thanks Karl,

I knew of the SS Kasserne but not that it was classified a sub-camp of Flossenburg. I have quite a bit of information about the barracks which was renamed Merrell Barracks by the US occupation forces and used by the US army until they pulled out of Germany in the 1990s when the barracks reverted back to German control and became a government building dealing with asylum seekers. The SS Kasserne was used as a DP camp directly after the US army liberated Nurburg's tens of thousands of foreign forced workers. When I have a little more time I will add a thread with more information.

I did not know about Siemens-Schuckertwerke at all, so that is interesting to learn.

    Best,

    Stefan
