The Waschraum (bath house) was among the first structures encountered upon entering the camp. Nearby, the Effektenkammer (prisoners belongings store), Aufnahmeblock (entrance block) and Bekleidungskammer (clothes store) were all located.

The image below shows the interior of the Häftlingsküche (prisoners kitchen). The kitchen block was constructed near to the Appellplatz (roll call/muster area) shown above.

Sorry for the late reply Larry. The above was used for washing vegetables. These constructions are rather common throughout KL kitchen blocks.

These are great photos Carl, but they really do send a shiver down your spine. I can't help but think of the suffering that went on within these fences, just terrible.

    Siemens Kommando:

The remains of one of the two former Siemens Kommando Blocks at KZ-Gross-Rosen. This block, known as number 14 or Siemens-II, together with block 17 (Siemens-I), held several hundred prisoners. The prisoners worked within three sections, namely electrics, tinsmiths and locksmiths. A storage facility and office of the Siemens enterprise was also located at Gross-Rosen, although they were erected within the SS-Lager, rather than the Häftlingslager (prisoners camp). In the background of the attachment below, the roof of the französische baracke (French barrack) can be seen.
