    1) A very rare packet receipt confirmation card from Lublin. Records survived confirming that over 10,000 prisoners received such packages. The food parcels were organised by the Polish Red Cross.

    2) Unusual example sent to f.KL-Ravensbrück.

    Mittelbau-Dora

DORA camp mail examples are unusual. Post was even marked without the name of the camp to protect the location of the V-Weapons production facilities.

Gross-Rosen - period original stamp markings vs modern reproduction ink stamp

Below are two images, the first of which shows a period example of mail from KZ-Gross-Rosen. The second image shows an ink stamp - marked from Gross-Rosen's postal censorship office. The ink stamp is one of the common reproduction examples that can be found on the Internet or at flea markets and the like. Similar pieces have become increasingly available for over 30 years in fact. Concentrating on the wording, those with a keen eye will note the key difference. Compare the period markings with the ink stamp, focusing on the "G" in "Gross-Rosen". Those responsible for producing the ink stamp went to a lot of trouble but they missed one key feature - the font of the "G" is incorrect. Patently, the form of the stamp itself is a well known copy - but if it was used to mark letters, few would notice the difference.
