Auschwitz-II, Birkenau
A rare example from a Czech Jew imprisoned at Auschwitz-II, Birkenau. The mail was forwarded to a processing office in Berlin, before being sent on to the relative / contact provided by the inmate. The control stamp instructs the recipient that any reply must be sent to the Association of Jews in Germany, Berlin.

f.KL-Ravensbrück
At Ravensbrück, a small Prussian village near Fürstenberg/Havel, the only major Konzentrationslager established primarily to hold female prisoners was located. The post censor control office was set up within the Kommandantur building (the offices of the camp command), pictured below. Constructed in 1940, the first floor of the building housed the offices of the Kommandant, adjutant and camp administration, in addition to a large well furnished hall that likely served as an SS officer's mess. Below this level, on the ground floor, the political department offices, SS physician treatment rooms and mail censorship office were all located. Although the camp was establiched to hold women, a small Männerlager (men's camp) - see the link below for more information, was established in the spring of 1941. The camp mail can thus be found bearing censorship markings with both "f.KL-Ravensbrück = Frauen-Konzentrationslager Ravensbrück" (women's concentration camp Ravensbrück) and "KL-Ravensbrück = Konzentrationslager Ravensbrück" (concentration camp Ravensbrück) present. Attached below are two such examples for comparison.
