I've noticed that a lot of elevators and escalators in the U.S. are made by the Schindler Co... I wonder if this modern company is at all related to Oskar Schindler?

I have a neighbour who works for Schindler Lifts ........ get it? ( he doesn't! )

Hi Harry, her story is rather sad. She never knew her Dad and the story about him only come out when she young after a family row. She though he simply was killed during the war. I can highly recommend the film about her as quoted in post 18.

I do remember know that the veiw of the camp was partially blocked with a mound of earth, but you could certainly see a lot of the camp area. Ade i saw that Documentary it was very interesting, his daughter came across as a very troubled person, i really did feel sorry for her...

It took the executioner three times to properly hang Goth. The gallows was a slightly elevated platform. The first two times the trap was sprung, Goth landed feet first on the ground as they had used to long a rope. The botched hanging can be viewed on Youtube.

Thanks for the information. I wonder who the guy was. He evidently was of some importance as they took the time to film the hanging.

It is definitely Fischer. There is a photo of him on his Wikipedia page,

He was definitely responsible for a lot of evil deeds in Poland.
