I agree.
Either that or a capture dagger with a theatre made handle out of 'plexi glass' discs.
Maybe the relatively fragile original handle cracked at some point in time - either during or after the war.
There are many examples of Allied theatre made knives/daggers with these 'see-through' handles.
Some using a blade from a capture or Allied production knife, others fashioned out of crude but most likely effictive theatre made blades as well.
Too bad they didnt make a buffer pad for it, that is one rusty blade!

It is very sad to look at hardly damaged dagger. Now I must look at Kriegsmarine dagger collection thread by Danny for some smile.
