Interesting to see a gold knot,, but it doesnt look like it was recently untied. This might be a possible ad on to the sale of the dagger. Any type of cord or leather that has not moved from its state of contouring,, will "not" automatically straighten itself out. The dagger and hangers are in great condition!

Very nice original WKC dagger in decent condition.
Typical WKC pommel and nice pair of hangers.
Blade has greying and very bright but it is a good collectable piece

Larry i dont think its a gold colored knot, prob. more a color change thru weather or moisture influences.
    Cheers Ger

Larry i think Vedran refers to the mounts.
the lower one is not textbook, the achorn is not on the right spot, but it looks like 2 upper ones are installed.
Seen it but didnt raise a big red flag, the scabbard is not being shown very well, so i couldnt make it up completely.
    Otherwise i see np here.

Verdran can you explain yourself a bit further?
It would be nice to know what's triggered you.....

    Cheers,
    Ger

    Simple as that.
In most cases, releasing the button, match (color), with the scabbard.
And the relationship scabbard, with the blade dagger - scabbard is just too well preserved.
    Conditions should be the opposite.

Well Guys I thought I would tell you what happened with this dagger and I hope I haven’t wasted your time.
It was coming up at a local auction this morning with an estimate of £300-£400
I am sure those of you who have these will be interested to know what it made.
It went for £880 plus 19.5% auctioneers charges, plus 20% value added tax.
So to me that was way more than I was willing to pay for it! I was hoping to pick up a little bargain.
These things, like a lot of military collectables are way out of a working class guys limit like myself who only makes £360 a week with four mouths to feed and a house and car to keep.
Got to keep my priorities right.
Thanks again and if i find another I hope you wont mind me asking again.
    Seasons greetings
    Rod

Rod, I advise - try to save some money and buy a quality dagger, which wold bee a long tome in your collection.
