    Although this dagger is not in the best condition it still is an original textbook piece with the late 'over the shoulder' trademark.

    If I may add also some light humor......Nikolaus used a first time generic term .... "Clutch Winding" or in Edged weapon translation...."Grip wire"..which Nikolaus pointed out as the grip is without the twisted wire normally seen on these grips. Although a salty dagger it is still in collectible condition..for someone looking for one thats been out on a battleship or U-boat for extended periods. Thanks for posting Nikolaus. Regards Larry

    There has been considerable debate on the KM's grip wires. Some have seriously proposed that quite often the wire was removed by the original owner. I do know that I have seen more than a few with it missing, myself, and that it appeared to have been missing for some long while. But, until we find some period photos of KM's in wear that do Not have their grip wraps, we can only speculate...
