Kriegsmarine 2nd model unmarked dagger in mint condition

Hi Guys, another new one for my collection and Kriegsmarine dagger number 4 for me

A plain blade was an option open to Kriegsmarine Officers when they purchased a dagger. Most opted for the conventional etched blade with fouled anchor design. As a result, the cheaper plain blade is now harder to find. The dagger has no makers mark either.

This dagger is in nice overall condition, just the original gilt wash to the fittings is now gone, which tends to be usual, due to polishing over the years.

The original red felt buffer washer is still in place.

Ade, I know nothing about these daggers, but I know what I like. This I love!! Very nice condition.

Very nice piece. I'm attaching a couple of pic's of the fake which I bought in my ignorance some time ago. May benefit other members who could fall into the same trap. I can make some more detailed pic's if anyone is interested?

Thanks for the info, I had thought most of the fakes came from India.
The pictures from your re-enactment trip were very good, I also looked at the Fort Nelson pictures. They interested me as I know the place well, coming from Portsmouth originally, the forts were one of my favourite exploring playgrounds in the '50s.
