The blade is post war, the maker mark should be stamped and the other way around. Sorry its no good.

The dagger looks to be a Paul Weyersberg one with a replaced blade. As Tomaz already said, is the blade a fake.
It could have been a Weyersberg but it could also have been from a number of other producers as all the fittings are generic.

the parts of the dagger are typical Paul Weyersberg products. Only the blade is it not.

Yes Oleg I agree with you the parts are typical of Weyersberg but Weyersberg used generic parts which were made and sold to companys that did not manufacture their own parts, that's how it could have been a dagger from another company.
How unfortunate that someone has removed a portepee that had been tied to the crossguard for decades. The shadowing left by it is very visible. Regards Larry

in this combination (eagle, scabbard throat screws, leather, scabbard tapes) it could be only a Paul Weyersberg dagger. What would be your idea, which another company could be a maker of this dagger?

What I am saying is that I have seen these fittings on other navy daggers, Puma, Clemen & Jung, Krebs and others, so they were made to supply companys who did not make their own parts. If this dagger was shown with a blade from either of these companys or others that did not manufacture/make their own fittings then it would be seen as a correct piece. The leather buffer pad is a good indication that it was a Weyersberg but if it had a blade by another producer then I doubt it would be dismissed just because of the buffer pad. I could not say who made the generic scabbard or cross guard but the pommel is the WKC generic type.
One thing I will say about this cross guard though is that I don't like it because it is exactly the same as ones seen on post war reproduction navy daggers, often Eickhorns with blades like the one shown on this thread.
