Default Kriegsmarine 2nd model WKC etched daggers early and late period

I'd like to show two navy daggers from my collection. Both are made by WKC but there are some interesting differences. The one with the dark orange grip and hammared scabbard is a early production. The white grip dagger is a mid periode dagger. Note the early WKC pommel on the early piece. Very different from the later used pommel on the white grip dagger. Also the sailingship etch is typical for early WKC daggers. Unlike companies like Höller that only used the sailingship etch, WKC switched to the "fouled anchor" type later in the period. I never understood why because I like the sailingship etch a lot better

The orange gripped piece is especially impressive! A nice pair, by any way of looking at them! Now where are those lion head hangers?
