Article about: good morning and a wish for a wonderful new year to all. Here is a WKC Kriegsmarine dagger...nothing exeptional but seems in decent conditions overall...i'd like to know your opinions on it.

    It looks ok. (Quite a lot of gold gilding missing.)
    The only thing i seem as problem - portepee is subsequently added to the dagger, and I'm not sure that is Naval or Herr.
    Can you put some more photos in this style?

    The best way to see if the portepee was added would to look beneath the knot..and see if any verdigris may be present..or any trapped dirt between the knot and the dagger.

    Not untying it but looking around the knot itself.

    i'm not sure about the portepee but seems that is there from a long time ..there's a lot of green underneath

    It looks ok, navy portepee the middle period.

    Larry knocked the nail on the head. I don't know much about army daggers, never owned one either. But they are nice things to look at I must admit, this one looks good.
    I particulary like the greening to the bottom of the scabbard, this help supports evidence that it has always been with the dagger.
