900 Silver L/52 Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1.Klasse mit Schwertern - Zimmermann

This arrived in the mail today from a fine member here on the forum. Thanks Christian!

A nice minty screw back KvK 1st Class with Swords by Zimmermann in Sterling Silver

Condition is near mint with nearly all the burnishing remaining on the Swaz and the Cross border. (The photos don't capture the burnishing well)

The pebbling pattern lines up with the example in Maerz/Stimsons book.

Interested to hear if others have seen, owned or handled one. Except for this one, I personally have only seen one or two in screw back. Needless to say, they are rare.

I too am glad I have it. And as you know me, this isn't going anywhere so it will be well taken care of.

I'm going to try to figure out the best way to display this. Right now I have 1/2 dozen KvK's or more. Think I will finally mount them all with this one in the center. Or I might just mount this one alone.

Nice to have these two examples together.

I see that flaw now! Never saw it before. I've compared the wreaths closely and they match up. Even down to some small pitting in the oak leaves in the 8 O'clock position.

That's a pretty nice example Michael!
From the photos, it appears that there is frosting on the arms and sword handles, but not in the recessed area around the swastika.
Is that correct?
