Default Kriegsverdienst Kreuz 1. Klasse ohne Schwerter

    Good afternoon all

I brought this Kriegsverdienst Kreuz 1. Klasse ohne Schwerter a few years ago now from a well know military medal dealer in my local area who has since closed down. Although he specialised in British Medals and decorations he did have a few Third Reich items. At the time I was very new to the hobby, although I'm still learning, and didn’t know about WRF to check things out. I have been looking at posts on the Kriegsverdienstkreuz forum but am finding it hard to confirm whether this is genuine of fake and if genuine what the maker is.
I will keep looking but if anyone has a moment and could help I would really appreciate it. I am still looking for a boxed one but they are hard to find, or at least seem to be. Not surprising really as I think only around 92,000 were awarded.

I will have another look when I have more time but check the type and shape of the catch, the shape of the pin and type of hinge.
If you can't find something the same in an original, it could be a copy.

I will have another look around the forum again when I get a chance. This is the only medal in my collection that I have a little doubt on as it was one of my first purchases and really sparked the interest in me.

I'm feeling much better about it now, at least it's not looking like a copy.
