Default Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2 Klasse. Austrian fashion.

    Hi guys,

I filled up my collection by one more cross. It is interested me by version of wearing. Undoubtedly, the cross decorated a some civilian tunic after war. The design of award is close to modern. But I'm not sure about swords on the top. It is really connected with cross or extraneous element? Next issue is the mark on ring, I cannot recognize that.

    Thank for your opinions,
    Alex

I do believe that is the Austrian style of mounting the medal. That is a good question about the sword device, as it may have been put on the wrong side? I do like the look of it, though.

Excellent knowledge! Yes, I bought one in Austria.
But the side is not wrong. I mentioned that it probably was worn after war, therefore the swastika was hidden.

I agree with the post above that this Kvk 2 Klasse mit Schwertern is mounted in the Austrian fashion...It appears the sword-device was added later, as it's not a part of the original award...
    cheers, Glenn

The mark looks like '107' for Carl Wild from Hamburg. It is upside down in the image above.

I agree with the guys above me that the swords have been added to the ribbon. They actually seem to be very wide, I'm not sure what these might have come from. I think they are wider than a regular ribbon.

I've posted them before but here are my Austrian trifold mounted KVKs............

Thanks, gents, for discussion. I have found the original austrian medal where swords from. This is medal for courage, therefore swords on top are fantasy of previous owner or seller.
However the mark is still not clear.
