It is not Deschler KVK1 for sure, because Deschler never produced screwback version of these. Its most probably Bernard Heinrich Mayer, Pforzheim.

Hey Franko
After studying again I think you are right. I had Mayer in my mind but for some reason (or maybe my brain wanted it to be), I thought the sword grips looked "Juncker-ish"
Regardless it is a beauty but I'm having a hard time hammering down the sellers asking price!!

It surely is excellent example.

Hi Jamie!
The pictures are not so good, but it looks like a Souval cross.

it looks like a Souval cross.
It certainly isn't Rudolf Souval KVK1.

That's just your opinion.

This piece was made by B.H.Mayer as it is stated above.

I spoke with Dietrich Maerz about this cross, as I initially believed it to be a Juncker (the sword pommels, from the provided photos looked Junckerish) but also the reverse is Mayerish).
It is certainly not a Souval.
Regardless, I will not be the new owner unfortunately as the seller wanted too much money for it and as keen as I am on KVK1 I'm no longer foolish enough to throw my money at just anything that catches my eye.
Here endeth the tale of this KVK1 lol.

Wise decision Jamie, there is no need to overpaid this KVK or any other item actually, you will be always able to find another one for reasonable price and maybe in even better condition.
Best regards,
Franko
