Hi gents,
What´s your opinion on this piece? Normally I have no doubts about this sort of medals but on this is not common mark 80 (strange font). I rather think it´s good one..On GCA forum nobody answered methanks for your answers. Pepek

If I had not seen the mark, I would have said it was fine. But I must agree, the mark is odd.
Cheers, Ade.
If they're knocking them off to that standard then the hobby is doomed.
Could the mark have been added to an unmarked original? If so why?
Is there an upsurge in the market of this medal?
I think from the time and effort point of view to much work not enough return?
I don't know any more its getting to be no fun!

Jock
Al,
Your right of course, just a bit miffed at the improving quality of the fakes, they will get it right soon and they will be identical to the real deal. Then what?
Regards
Jock
i don't see why these would be faked as they're not worth that much i got mine for £20 so there's not allot of money to be made in these it probably cost more to make a fake this good then it would to by a real one. may be added later to try & make it more desirable ????
Believe you me,the fakers will fake anything. Even ground dug stuff. Small bucks fast, folks are less likely to suspect low value awards & just assume it's good. Stewy S
to me that makes no sense but thats fakers for ya i spose
Makes perfect sense. It's easier to sell 10 badges at 20 Euros which seem to be unworthy of faking due to cost than trying to flog a 200 Euro badge which most serious collectors will be able to identify as fake. it is a bit scary if this turns out to be a fake because I was convinced it was genuine until I saw the stamp on ring. Colouring and detail is top notch! Regards Thomas
All right, then my cross is a fake?
