Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes, jewelers copy
G'day all,
We have a two day militaria fair here in Western Australia this weekend, I'm working there helping a mate out manning tables. My mate has a Knights cross of the war merit cross which he believes is a jewelers copy, this this is heavy and is very good quality, the details are very crisp and clean. My question is, is there such a thing as a jewelers copy? I'm back working there tomorrow so I'll try to get a few pics to post here but I am curious for a definitive answer as to whether these jewelers copies are a real thing or not, I've read various opinions on them and wondered what the consensus was among those that know about these things.
Cheers, Dave.

Sorrow gents, these pics are taken on my phone so not the best quality but this is a really crisp looking cross.

There are certain private made pieces or Jewelers copies but most of them are not considered wartime/ are not accepted as originals and do not command prices like the originals, better photos are needed but I see some bad casting and die flaws which are not a good sign.

I agree with KMMorris in all he's stated. And I would also like to add that I firmly believe this cross is not made out of sliver. If you zoom in and look closely at this piece you can see specs of brass colored metal in the wreath.
