    Hello,
I'm thinking of buying this War Merit cross. It comes with a presentation envelope and ribbon. The seller has told me it was found in an old house in Poland.

The envelope is marked Deschler and Sohn, I see from this site their code is "1" but upon a closer inspection the ring is stamped "7".

Do you think the medal looks authentic?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Stuka
    My answer is positive!
KVK series were being reproduced last centry, luckly, the quantity is not that much as IAB or EK.....

KVK2 and 1 are easy to detective, because the faker usually had them bad details in order to decrease the cost(Real KVK1&2 are not that pricey), the place to detetive is the every corner of the cross, sword, and Swasika....original must be very sharp and clean and even.

Fakes usually, crude and crimp edge, flat Swasitika and wrong material....

That was the reason of my question! I coludn't imagine they where worth it, but as you say if they are badly made.

I think that will be the only give away for the next copy's, of any III Reich item.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

What about the fact the makers code doesn't match the envelope? Is the envelope a fake?
Also should I be concerned about the fact the ring is open a little? They usually seem closed.

    Hi
A lot of listed makers that made KVK series medal and bag. however, we collectors like to combo the envelope and kvk itself as a group even they were from defferent maker. the envelope itself looks fine to me...
