I had the pleasure of meeting Ade Stevenson at a reenactment show in Fort Nelson Portsmouth (UK) at the weekend (Apr 09). His group the 2nd Guards put on a superb and believable display in the fort tunnels/ramparts which for me bettered most film sets. Very well done, they also staged several battles over the weekend.
I've added a link for details of this battle

It was great to meet up and chat! Glad you liked the display. The Fort lends itself to a great backdrop for our group and with a few hours work between us we can put on a decent show.

My camera batteries died, so I did not get any pics myself. So thanks for those.

    Cheers, Ade.

Ade looks like a typical Russian soldier, usually it's not hard to recognize the western reenactors, but Ade looks good and looks like a starshina.

Calendar ? Oh lord ! It isn't one of those nudie ones is it with Ade in various poses holding a Russian helmet over his nether regions ?

I've got a picture of me holding a couple of stick grenades in the 'right place' if you want to include that !

Some shaky camera work of the little skirmish we did. Nothing too serious given the limitations of the venue. I am with the PPSh41.

    Cheers Ade.
