Article about: Hi Guys, this is serious. The anti gun lobby in the EU are seeking to piggyback the terrorist attack in Paris to further their anti gun political agenda. MAKE NO MISTAKE, this will kill our

There is no requirement to register your guns. I have only just joined myself, but as far as I can see its about funding the fight for our rights and getting advice if needed. Doug

i remember when the firearms act came into force in 88 and saw the sad look on my father's face as he handed over his 357 S&W and his 44 cal blackpowder hand cannon at our local police station ,the officer's who received them had a different expression almost like a small child on xmas day

This is outrageous! As I was fearing from the start, like another 911 with new and improved draconian measures to follow... You've got to fight this with all your might, for all the good it will do, but you've my backing and sympathies 100%.

And what sense does it make to take your historical DEWAT weapons away from you?

    None, of course!

And how is this going to prevent criminals or terrorist from getting guns?

    It's not.

How do any existing laws/new laws affect non law abiding citizens?

    They don't.

Laws only affect and in this case hurt law abiding citizens, to the detriment of the fabric of our society.

How will this - if it passes - prevent terrorism?

    It won't.

1st gun control. In the case of the UK, I'm sure now they want knife control... What's next? Claw hammer control? Frying pan control?

Common sense... it's sadly not all that common ;-(

Same here. One was a beautiful brushed silver Beretta 92FS, and a 21st birthday present from my late grandma. When I was forced to hand it and another couple of pistols over in September 1997 I was given just over 450 for the lot, the b*******!!!!

Or"pried from your cold dead fingers" as our colonial friends like to say, depending on how you decide to react when the law turns up to snatch them off you.....!!!
I don't have to worry. The County Sheriff is a friend of mine and we belong to the local shooting club.

I've signed the petition and written to my MP and MEPs.

As long as there are masses of easily available weapons available in North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans etc. and Europe has unprotected external borders and complete internal freedom of movement terrorists will have little problem obtaining arms. The proposed legislation is akin to painting a house that is on fire.

I too have had a reply from Daniel Dalton MEP.

    He included the suggestion to also contact the other UK members on the IMCO Committee: Vicky Ford MEP (Conservative) and Catherine Stihler MEP (Labour). This I have now done, their email addresses being:;

He also suggested that I contact my local MEPs, which I had already done.

The EU should be protecting our Human Rights, not Persecuting us, that is the question we must demand an detailed definitive explaination, why collectors are judged to be irresponsible and what we have done to deserve this ultimate insult ?

I am exasperated and disgusted beyond words, by this unacceptable outrage, I believe that the corrupt (both financially, in morality and in democracy) , has made a great mistake in persecuting law abiding citizens who collect and take part in re-enactments, for our enjoyment and that of others, as in, we all support different political parties, are of different generations, but we all have one thing in common, the preservation and respect for history, at all costs and the written support, of all decent law-abiding people.

This is an ancient right (to bear arms, going back to the time when you carved a bow and arrow) that we collectors must fight to our dying breath, most likely otherwise, having to emigrate to a free country, just as some of our Eastern European (Polish, in my case) had to do, to escape illegal Post-war occupation by the Communists.

E-Mail, write or make an appointment, particularly to Teresa May, (our Home Secretary) as it comes directly, under her Home Office department, or see your local MPs and the European MEPs.

Here is an excellent link to what the Nazis declared as law, after the Occupation of Poland in September 1939, not only the expected confication of firearms, but also sabers and other edged weapons, uniforms and related accessories including even seemingly harmless badges -

One reason why genuine pre-war Polish militaria is so scarce

Because this is terrible enough, but next I am sure, next will be undoubtedly, our combat knifes, swords and daggers, all of our completely unsharp and blunt parade weapons, will follow them, being ridiculously declared an unacceptable risk, in collectors hands.

It will never stop because the EU, want us to be prostrate under their control, (which, is by its very nature, unending, until all proud peaple of a free Europe, are crushed completely and have no dignity left, like a oppressive peaceful occupation, this is what our ancestors decided without hesitation to be forced to go to War for, to protect our rights, they would turn in their graves, to see us now, being treated like this) which will only be achieved, at all costs, if we let them, walk all over us. that is why in this vital British, EU Referendum (which is our long-awaited only chance in a Generation), we can leave the EU completely and never have to beg the EU President and Council, to enshrine our ancient rights in EU Law, ever again in the future and worry about them, giving us false unsubstantiated promises (like they give to Cameron) and then putting it into EU Law regardless.

It is the immoral and completely unnecessary steps taken, to strip us of our pride, dignity, our very soul and identity, just as the Nazis and Communists have done in the past, like in the Chinese Communist occupation of Tibet, under Chairman Mao.

When they have to pay out massive compensation to collectors and bankrupt militaria (mainly ones who specialise in deactivated weapons shop, because not many collectors, will want the indignity of owning, some dead lumps of metal, which would give less enjoyment and movement (none) than a Childs toy) throughout Europe, causing an enormous black hole in the budgets and a massive rise in Tax, most likely, another recession they will realise how much they underestimated the enormous size and number of collectors collections and wish they had never agreed to something, so stupid.

That is why; there are exceptionally good reasons to tell them, for them to declare this unpractical, as well as immoral.

We should also open a case under the European Court of Human Rights, while we still have some rights.

History has many examples of this type of unacceptable, undeserved persecution, but never under a Institution that is supposed to be protecting a free and united, peaceful Europe.

May we gather great unending support, to see this deviate abhorance of twisted Law, defeated completely by a majority, as the fist step, then celebrate, when we vote, also by a majority, to leave the abhorant EU Parliment and protectionist EEC mechanism (not the European Countries, which we will still have an unbreakable historic and cultural bond with, (under our future, completely independant Government) which we choose, without hesitation or reservations, to keep by our own free will ) and become truely free again,

May god see that justice, is upheld.

Honor i Ojczyzna (Honour and Fatherland - the official motto of the Polish Armed Forces in the IIRP onwards)

Fine words indeed, but it will change nothing. As for 'dead lumps of metal,' that is exactly how it already is anyway when it comes to SMG's, They have been welded up solid since post 1995, but it hasn't stopped people from buying them. It isn't that many years ago that you couldn't own any type of military weapon unless it was on ticket - or had its rifling removed so that you could own it on a shotgun cert.

Whether we like it or not, the EU will do exactly what the EU wants to do - no matter how hard anyone protests. You can still do re-enactment with something welded solid, even this is better than a total ban. But we are all still jumping the gun - so to speak! No-one seems to know what is going on. I have spoken with several large dealers of deact weapons, and they all say the same, no-one knows what the final outcome will be.
