I have no idea on this one?

However, I can tell you that wearing the black uniform is always frowned upon in re-enactment circles. It just gives the wrong impression. The general public to whom you would come in contact with would simply not understand. And a great many re-enactors themselves do not like it. They see it as a political statement. Wear Feldgrau and camo by all means but leave the black uniform at home.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Ade.
Yeah I've been told this by a mate who does WW1 shows.
Such a shame really most people don't understand.
You see so much of the black uniform in movies to t.v stuff like Hogans heroes, and yet
when people put together re-enactments they want to hide that kind of uniform.
For me re-enactment is education not glorifying.
But you're right, I'm just going to have to add some cammo to the shopping list.

The Black uniform is seen by many as representing the darker side of the SS and the Nazi regime and will certainly others will call into question your political motivations , as Ade has advised this really isn't a good idea and i'd give it a miss !!

Sensible words indeed from Ade. The bottom line is that people just would not understand. Unfortunately, I fear that you would face inevitable hostility. Pity, because to meet up and recreate a parade for example, would be a truly splendid sight. I was wearing my long, tailored black winter coat last week on the tram and a German Shephard got on and came and sat at my feet. You should have seen the looks I got! And that was without a Kampfbinde...

I voted Greens last year, lol.
But yes I agree, not worth doing and would be in bad taste.
If only they hadn't been such evil buggers.
    Still a nice uniform.
Only part I could play would be getting hanged.

Afraid so. Is an excellent and automatic way to go from being "the nice cool guy at the re-enactment" to instantly and forever being "The Nazi Guy"....people can turn on a dime. William
