The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
While I'm slaving away over here in the salt mines, I'll look at pictures of you having a wonderful time Paul. That uniform does look pretty authentic.
Jay
Hi Paul, yes an old converted Swedish tunic.
Cheers, Ade.
That really seems amazing, it looks real, i would love to see a show like this.
Best regards
Nuno

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum and thanks for the great photos!
I have a few pictures to upload later: still got to unpack the car.
As usual it was a great show and very enjoyable. I ache all over today but it was well worth it.
Cheers, Ade.
Ade
Thanks a lot.
oooh, I remember those aches at the end of a weekend. We used to do Civil War weekends.
Do you know any of the organisations that took part? I assume it was a bunch of disperate groups. I couldn't see anywhere who belonged to what.
Steve
Hi Steve, all the units, bar ourselves (2nd Guards) were members of the WW2 Living History Association.
Cheers, Ade.
Checkout the following link:
Barry James Wilson: WWII Fort Nelson 2010
Barry is a member of our group and takes some great shots. Note the Pyro going off next to the Jeep in the Eastern Front skirmish, forum member Comrade Coffin with the DP28 and me with the PPSh41 as usual.
Cheers, Ade.
