I often wonder...do any actual WWII Vets ever come to see these things and what is their impressions and thoughts about them?
"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
we did an Plaque unveiling/ mini tented camp in a place called Tolleraton in Nottingham, home of the 507th pre D Day.. and we had a 507th vet, 508th and 325th vet come over for it, they really loved it! the vets like the fact the history and sacrifices made is being remembered, this is the common answer/ response from the vets i have spent time with. the best compliment made was by G/ 506th vet Jim "pee wee martin who said, you guys look great, just as i remember.
wow now that is epic..
