Hi guys, saw this and it was a first for me to be honest, basically it is a Crank catch Luftwaffe buckle, I wondering what other members thought about the buckle? To me it could be a genuine buckle made by Assmann, anyone any other thoughts?

Buckle itself might be original.....but it looks like that puppy's been repainted recently. Unfortunately the only crank catch Luft exmamples that I have for comparison is an early '35 dated drop tail example and another non tabbed drop tail.
Cheers!
Rob
Ben, it certainly looks a genuine crank catch lufty to me & a very seldom seen buckle for a luftwaffe
I agree with Rob about the recent green repaint which is a pity but if you buy it you can try Acetone on the paint to hopefully reveal the origional paint underneath

Ben, the buckle looks original, but it is the very first time for me to see this maker on a crank catch LW buckle made from steel. I think it is very rare! There is another LW steel buckle with a similar catch known and it is from C.T. Dicke (usually marked C.T.D.1942).
Best,
Guido
Many thanks gents, do we agree on the maker being Assmann?
Ben
Hello Ben ,
very nice seldom seen Assmann Luftwaffe steel ........but questionable the color .
Is ist original so in color like on the pics or is it dark blue ?
Regards ,
Markus
I'm searching for
Buckles 3.Reich
special SA/NSKK/NSFK with maker marks

That would be the question Markus, has it been repainted? But on the other hand to be quite honest on a buckle this rare it would not bother me to be honest!
Ben
