Luftwaffe Varianta

Hello A couple of variant luftwaffe buckles.

1 A Schmole and Comp. Menden, this is the only company I know of were the area around the eagle is smooth instead of pebbled.

2 A first pattern Luftwaffe with a very different style of construction.

Nice stuff Kirb! I have never seen that kind of lufty before...very nice! You're right about Schmolle being the only maker that didn't pebble the inside of the wreath. Here's mine for the sake of comparison....they also have a very unique eagle!

You got that buckle from me. It was on a very nice police style belt. I kept the belt but I didn't need two of these rarely seen buckles.

Kirby, Rob, I like your Luftwaffe buckles in this thread and I am quite happy to own also this nice Schmöle Luftwaffe variant buckle!

But please take a precise look at the area around the eagle and you will find a pebbling, a very very fine pebbling even though!
This pebbling is generally covered by the paint, so it is invisible.

Maybe you will say now: "These pedantic Germans!!!"
