    Alex, sorry mate bad buckle, bad prongs, bad maker mark, single rivet fixing point to rear, no good mucker Can you post it in the fake Luft thread please?

    Unfortunately, that Luft buckle matches up to post #43 here on the fake thread...and the example here came from one of the larger militaria dealer's website.

    are You sure ? The only thing I am not really comfortable is the prongs ( one side cut out )
    maker mark, Who knows ?
    single rivet, too odd to fool ....
    construction, details, finish are really nice

    anyway, I found it at MAX and paid nearly nothing just to study it

    It is indeed a fake, and you can also see it in Angolia's book. He describes it as genuine, which is not correct of course. Ben is right that the rivet and maker mark are never seen on genuine buckles. Also take a careful look at the eagle; you will see that same fake design on many buckles.

    Sorry Alex, its a known fake mate, the makers mark is non existent, the single rivet fixing is wrong, the OLT prongs are wrong. At least it cost you almost nothing.

    typical 80's years fake , with errors under the left wing .

    Also prongs and box are post war made ........
