Opinion on Luftwaffe Buckle & Belt

Article about: Recently picked up this Luft buckle with belt off of a non-militaria Facebook auction page. Took a chance considering the less than desirable photos, however I'm not out a whole lot if a rep

Buckle arrived today. No discernible markings from what I can see. Appears correct to my novice eyes. What's the opinion of the masses? Also, is the belt authentic? Appears to be political as Kirby mentioned.

    Thanks to all in advance!

Nice original buckle and belt, is there a hint of a makers mark here?

Luft belt has jet lag, haahaa ;-)

    Great belt und buckle!

Looks like paint on the back? Why would it be plated and painted?

    Thanks, Ben!

There could be. When I look at it under a loop, it's hard to tell due to all of the nicks, etc. Blown up version of the area below.

Do you have an opinion of who the maker could be based on the construction? Might be easier to marry up the marking, in lieu of trying to make it out from photos or viewing under magnification.

I know it's a long shot, however any guess as to when it would have been chromed; period parade or GI souvenir?

Thanks again; I appreciate your help.

    Thanks, Larboard!

You're guess is as good as mine regarding the plated vs painted.

    Hello,

B&N steel buckles have a light protect nickel coating under the blue color .

    Hi Ben

Sorry for the late reaction, I was in Ypres, commemorating the soldiers of WW1.
It seems to be indeed a B&N.
I have a CTD buckle, completely chromed.
During war or postwar?? Difficult to say.

    Take care

    Rudi
