Silver luftwaffe b & n - 42

Article about: Thanks Guido. I see what you mean about the eagle. Maybe it's because the paints gone off mine showing a little more detail, cheers, Richard.

    Default Silver luftwaffe b & n - 42

Hi Chaps, here's my latest a steel Luftwaffe Berg & Nolte - 42 in silver aluminium paint. As you can see it has typical B & N prongs. I've included a Heer of the same date as it looks like the prongs were cut by the same machine (which I suppose is logical) as they have the same 'tang' at the end,

    Cheers,

    Richard.

    Very nice buckle, Richard!

The silver colour on steel Luftwaffe buckles is not often to find.

I wonder why they have painted it silver? Perhaps a buckle for parade purposes?

Here is another silver example by G.H. Osang, wich crossed recently my way.

    Best,
    Guido

Hi Guido, I think you're probably right that they were silver for parade purposes. But looking at mine it looks like it's had combat wear, so I bet they were used 'in the field' as aluminium ones were. Your GHO is a brilliant example only ever seen blue before, great find, Cheers, Richard.

I know it's a little off topic; but I thought I'd add my blue GHO to compare to the above.

    Super addition, Richard!

But the eagle on your example looks to be a tad more detailed, or is it just me?

    Best,
    Guido
