Steel Luftwaffe Buckle, Fake?

Hello All,

Received this Steel Buckle as a gift from a friend . It looks well used , however I am just learning about the attributes of original buckles, and would like the opinions of the more experiences "eyes" here on the forum. Any help would be most welcome .
