    Hello buckle experts!
    I just pounced on this offering from Chrys at Winterhilfswerk.com
    No visible maker mark that he could see but I was wondering whether there are any telltale signs of some origin in his photos?

    Looks unissued which is why I grabbed it....

    Nice pick up Dan.

    As far as telltale signs as to it's origins...I would say it was made in Germany somewhere between mid/late '30's to '45.

    Looks like a Herman Aurich example to me..

    I would say yes, as Assman, R.S.S., Gustave Bremher and Aurich etc;etc; produced all types of buckles.
    The example you posted is uncommon as far as condition VG+.. I feel that if we had better pics that it is marked on the reverse towards the middle of the catch.. HA with the H laying sideways on top of the A
    if indeed Aurich..
