Crossguard is alluminum and the swaz roundel is brass. All other fittings are Nickel. This crossguard does not belong to this dagger..nor does the swastika roundel. Regards Larry

    Larry,
My first thought was the crossguard was cleaned along with the pommel and the darker areas around hakenkreuz were not "shined up". So your opinion is a parts dagger from the photos. All I have to go on.

    Larry,
    Thanks for your quick response!

Hi Anzel...some of the later Ist Luft models were being produced with Aluminum fittings..before the 2nnd model Luft appeared. From what I can see the pommel the chain and the crossguard are aluminum. The snap clip is nickel.

Curious thing about alluminum..is that it doesnt dull like nickel.

    Larry,
The aluminum ones do stay bright. Quite possible the scabbard was swapped out or complete parts dagger?? Probably tough to say for sure.
